Freedom Fighters, Today’s Video I have for you is about a Utah Cop Watcher that is being charged with 3 Violations. He received notification of these violation in the mail. The following counts are

Count 1. Interference with an Arresting officer, Count 2. Failure to Disclose Identity Count 3. Park Curfew

Two of these charges are classified as Class B Misdemeanors. After Reviewing the police report that was provided to me by JMR and watching the video of that interaction. It is my opinion that these charges are all total bullshit. If you find yourself to agree with me then I would like to make a call to action to help JMR by letting the North Salt Lake Police department know that they are wrong for charging a man who was exercising his First amendment right to film the police in their duty. The contact details are in the description below. Let’s get into the video. Keep in mind what you just watched because now I want to point out some key points to the Sgt narrative. Officer Wooldridge stated that JMR refused to leave. Not once did I see him state he will not leave the park. In fact, he agreed to take a few steps back and told the cop he was out of the park but the cop got sarcastic in his reply to jmr.

He also said that in his 27 years in law enforcement he only encountered professional persons from the press, with that statement it surely proves that he has never encountered a person from the free press community. He asked jmr for a press card and he responded that his press card is the 1st amendment. Just note you don’t need a press card to be a part of the free press. Why doesn’t this tyrant know this?

Officer Wooldridge continued to say he wasn’t sure if he was a constitutionalist, a person with a behavior disorder or some kind of agitator or a potential armed threat. That kind of mindset further proves that the police always expecting the worst in people. Finally, the last two items he said that upset me were, He appeared to be claiming the 1st amendment as an absolute right to intrude on any situation he felt warranted. I would have to say that is a false, he wasn’t approaching this incident with the intent to intrude, his intent was only to report the news by standing by and recording.

Lastly, the officer said he refused to id himself. UTAH is not a stop and id state. The only way you are required to show id, is if you are suspected of a crime or about to commit a crime. Is being near a park to record a incident for a news story a crime? Even if jmr was to be wrong and was in the park, that’s not a CRIME, it’s a violation of park policy. That would warrant a citation. If they do give a citation to JMR they need to track down the jogger who in the beginning of the video who was IN the park.

I firmly believe that the case against JMR is ridiculous and a waste of tax payers money and city resources. If you believe the same way I do and wish to help voice your opinion. Contact the police department and let them know they were wrong in how they are treating this case.

REMEMBER PEOPLE, when dealing with people of law enforcement, get those cameras rolling.
